Ain't no make-up like Mama's make-up!

Hi! I'm Melissa and I'm a professional makeup artist here in Chattanooga. I've worked in the beauty industry for over 10 years and although I'm usually busy with weddings and special events, my favorite part about my job is doing makeup lessons & classes! I was thrilled to partner with Chatty Mamas for a giveaway! I will be giving away a FREE lesson to a lucky winner! Check out our instagram sites for details! @chattymamas @melcmakeupartist

I love to empower women to feel confident in their own skin. I believe makeup should enhance a woman's natural beauty instead of covering it up. I also believe that makeup should be fun & quick! As an artist I can appreciate dramatic looks when appropriate, but most of my clients are moms & don't always have a lot of time to spend on makeup! I'm a new mom myself and I understand. We often neglect ourselves because we are so busy taking care of our little ones. However, I think it's so important to take time for ourselves and to have the ability to feel more put together when we want to!

I did Mallory's makeup for a wedding she was in last year and have enjoyed following this blog!  She is a beautiful, hardworking mama and I was excited to give her a lesson on how to quickly do her makeup for an every day look.
BEFORE & AFTER
My most requested makeup lesson is the 5 minute face. Of course I recommend several different products and brands based on my clients' needs. But my favorite makeup for a glowing, five minute flawless face is a brand called MaskcaraBeauty
Maskcara was created by a makeup artist & beauty blogger named Cara Brook. She created it to simplify women's makeup routines by putting it all in one refillable magnetic compact so you can buy only what you want, when you want it. It consists of a cream highlight color & contour color to add glow & dimension instead of one flat color. There are also cheek, lip, & eye colors so you can have everything you need in one sleek compact. Many of the products can be used for dual purposes, and their double ended brushes make application a breeze!

5 Easy Steps to a 5 minute face:

1. Apply contour color below cheekbones, jawline & around forehead
2. Apply highlight color under eyes, center of forehead, down the nose & chin
3. Apply blush on apples of the cheeks
4. Apply illuminator on tops of cheekbones for a fresh, dewy glow
5. Apply mascara & (optional) eye shadow to complete the look!

Products used on Mallory:

Maskcara Beauty IIID Foundation: Aura + Ash
-cheeks: Nude + Pearl
-eyes: Sabrina, Bright Eyes, Finn
-brows: Oak
-lips: Desert Sunset
-tools: 30 Sec brush + i Shadow Everything brush
