What is your Superpower?

I remember running around as a little girl being asked “if you could have one superpower what would it be?” My answer was always “I wish I could fly.” For anyone that knows me this is no surprise, before motherhood my gypsy soul dreamed of traveling the world. Now when asked by a child what my superpower is, my answer is simple. I’m a mom.

There is nothing more empowering than motherhood. Rarely do we as humans push ourselves to our full potential. Motherhood pushes you. Pushes you to your furthest lengths. The sleepless nights, mental/physical/financial stress, it all piles up on top of us but somehow we keep going because we are the foundation of our families. We are the foundation for our children.

Where -more importantly who- would we be without our mothers? They are strength, wisdom, and love exemplified. Who else can say they have eyes in the back of their head? Have a 6th sense to know when you are up to no good? Are always on guard duty to make sure you are safe? Motherhood isn’t defined by carrying a child in you for 9 months, it is a choice you make every.single.day to put someone else’s happiness and well being ahead of your own (kinda sounds like marriage, right ladies?!) but seriously, motherhood is the decision you make on a daily basis when you wake up to be a better you for someone else’s sake. To teach this innocent child all the good and bad life has to offer. Teach them the hard lessons when you know it is going to break their little heart for that moment in time but hoping in the long run they remember the easy way isn’t always the right way.

“Children are not a distraction from more important work, they are the most important work” – C.S. Lewis

The children are our future, they will become us so be who you want them to be. Keep being a bad a-s-s mama! You have all the superpowers you need, push yourself. You are a M O M.

Chatt Later,

Mallory
